Benefits of filming sessions
We use the film camera as a impressively effective media training tool:
We film specific exercises and playback your performance.
This helps you see immediately the impact you are having. We then use targeted exercises to develop your skills and film you again - then compare the difference.
The learning experience is intensified and accelerated leading to visible improvements in getting your message across.

Nixon and Kennedy

Training for Television and Radio

Why might you need to go on this course? The following story might interest you.

I‘d like to illustrate the importance of understanding how you come over by the following story which I am sure will be familiar to you. Let us consider the 26th September 1960 when 70 million U.S. viewers tuned in to watch Senator John Kennedy and vice president Richard Nixon in the first ever presidential debate. Nixon, having been injured in August, arrived at the debate, pale and underweight, wearing an ill-fitting suit, and refused make-up to improve his colour and 5 o‘clock shadow. Kennedy by contrast, had spent early September campaigning in California. He was tanned and confident and well rested. In substance, the candidates were evenly matched but the television viewers focused on what they saw, not on what they heard. The rest, as they say, is history.

You may have prepared the answers to any questions which you suspect will be fired at you but have you prepared yourself? In my experience most people underestimate the importance of preparing their face, body and voice before facing the media. The results  can be fatal, given the sensitivity of the camera and the microphone!

I will introduce you to relaxation techniques, voice production and general confidence-building techniques. You will learn techniques which will help you to cope with quick fire questions. Most importantly I will help you to show yourself in your best light.
