
About Bridget McCann
Bridget has been a trainer for many years, specialising in presentation skills, both corporate and personal. She is also an actor and uses the techniques learned on stage and screen to enable people to improve their communication skills.
She has trained in the private and public sectors. Her clients include employees of Cigna, BAA,West Lothian Council, Law students from Edinburgh University, Dundee City Council, Civil Assistance Legal Office Aberdeen, Shelter Scottish Housing Law Service, Citizens Advice Bureau, Tayside and Strathclyde Police Legal Services, Community Help and Advice Initiative, Community Care Providers Scotland, Scottish Social Services Council, Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service and Glasgow City Council.
She also runs public seminars at the Legal Services Agency in Glasgow on a regular basis. These include voice workshops and courtroom skills training days designed to help those who are new to working in court or those who feel they need to polish existing skills.
Bridget is also a tutor in communication skills at the Faculty of Medicine at Glasgow University. She has been a role-play participant and facilitator in Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Dundee and Glasgow, working predominantly for the Social Services, Medicine and Corporate Business.
Bridget has extensive experience of working in business, having run her family retail business for 15 years. This included dealing with the public, staff training and sales.
Bridget trained at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama and has been an actor for over 30 years. She has many years experience of working in Scotland and England in theatre, radio, television, film and voice-overs. Her screen roles have included roles in ‘Taggart’, ‘High Road’, ‘Rab C Nesbit‘, ‘Plays for Today’, ‘River City’ and ‘Still Game’.
Over the years she has been a regular contributor to radio magazine programmes and dramas, as well as voicing documentaries and promotional trails for BBC Scotland.
